These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Logo API (the "API") provided by logostream. By using the API, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

    1. Access and Use

    1.1 API Access

    • Access is granted via a personal API key, which must not be shared or resold.
    • The API is intended for business customers only.

    1.2 Permitted Use

    • You may use the API only for legal and authorized business purposes.
    • Logos may only be used informatively or for identifying companies and assets (Fair Use).
    • Excessive usage, scraping, or resale may result in immediate termination of access.
    • Use is subject to rate limits and usage quotas as published from time to time. Exceeding these limits may result in throttling or suspension of access.
    • Systematic or repeated enumeration of the catalogue (e.g., bulk-downloading or re-creating the full set of identifier-to-logo mappings rather than querying entries as needed for your own use) is not a permitted use, regardless of whether it stays within a published rate limit.

    2. License and Rights

    • The Provider grants a personal, worldwide, non-exclusive license to use the API in accordance with these Terms.
    • Third-Party IP: Logos and other content belong to third parties. The Provider does not transfer ownership, and you are responsible for lawful use.
    • You agree not to infringe the rights of third parties, including trademarks and copyrights.

    2.3 Caching and Local Storage

    • You may cache API responses locally only to the extent enabled by your plan, as described on logostream.dev/pricing (e.g., no caching on the free plan, 24-hour caching on the Startup plan, extended self-hosted caching on higher plans).
    • Where your plan includes caching, you may not retain a copy of the data beyond the permitted period, re-extract or re-derive substantial or insubstantial parts of the catalogue through repeated and systematic queries, build a competing or derivative dataset from it, or redistribute it outside your own product.

    2.4 Database Rights

    • The Provider's catalogue of identifier-to-logo mappings (ISIN, WKN, ticker, and BIC/SWIFT codes linked to company, bank, and cryptocurrency logos) reflects substantial investment in its collection, verification, and maintenance, and is protected as a database under §§ 87a et seq. of the German Copyright Act (UrhG) and Directive 96/9/EC.
    • The license granted under these Terms covers querying the API for your own use only. It does not grant any right to extract or re-utilize the database itself. This is separate from, and additional to, the third-party rights in individual logos described above.

    3. Fees & Payment

    • The API may be paid or free (e.g., Logo API free with attribution).
    • Payment is based on individual agreements: annual subscription or pay-per-use.
    • Subscriptions can be terminated at the end of the current billing cycle.
    • Attribution: where the API is used under the free (Community) plan, "attribution" means a visible, hyperlinked credit reading "Logos by logostream.dev" (linking to https://logostream.dev), displayed alongside the logo(s) used, in a minimum font size of 12 points.
    • The attribution must be visible without requiring user interaction (e.g., not hidden behind a hover state or a collapsed menu) and must be crawlable, i.e., present in the served HTML rather than injected only via client-side script in a way that hides it from crawlers.
    • Attribution may only be removed under a paid plan that explicitly waives this requirement.

    4. Liability and Warranty

    • The API is provided "as is".
    • No guarantees are made regarding availability, accuracy, or completeness of the data.
    • Users assume full responsibility for the use and interpretation of the API data.
    • The Provider is not liable for any damages resulting from API use.

    5. Compliance and Fair Use

    • Use must be lawful and in accordance with Fair Use principles.
    • Logos may only be used to identify companies, stocks, or assets, or in portfolio displays.
    • Any misuse may result in immediate termination of access.

    6. Termination

    • Upon termination or expiration of the agreement, your right to access the API ceases immediately.
    • Any outstanding fees are due immediately.
    • Within 30 days of termination, you must delete all assets, cached data, backups, and derivatives obtained through the API, except for copies embedded in outputs you have already published before termination (e.g., a rendered page or document containing a logo), which may remain unchanged but must not be updated or re-derived using further API access.
    • Upon request, you must confirm in writing that deletion has been completed.
    • Sections 2 (License and Rights), 4 (Liability and Warranty), 5 (Compliance and Fair Use), this Section 6, and Section 8 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction) survive termination.

    7. Changes to Terms

    • The Provider may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced by email at least 30 days before they take effect, and the "Last updated" date will be revised accordingly.
    • If you object to a material change, you may terminate your agreement, effective at the end of your current billing cycle, by notifying the Provider before the change takes effect.
    • Editorial or clarifying changes that do not affect your rights or obligations may take effect immediately.

    8. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

    • These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG).
    • For customers who are merchants (Kaufleute) within the meaning of the German Commercial Code (HGB), the exclusive place of jurisdiction is Fulda, Germany.
