Currency Icons for Trading Platforms & Payment Apps

Currency symbols like $ are ambiguous across USD, AUD, and CAD. Flags aren't — the Forex Logo API delivers the right one for every ISO 4217 code, so currency pairs and payment flows are unambiguous at a glance.

    Simple Integration

Add a currency icon to your app with a single line of code, referenced by ISO 4217 currency code:

Forex Logo API Documentation & Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our currency icon API.

A Forex Logo API is a REST API that provides currency icons for FX and international payment applications. Our Forex Logo API delivers each currency as its representative country flag via the ISO 4217 currency code, so you can label currency pairs, converters, and payment flows with instantly recognizable visuals.

The API covers major world currencies via their ISO 4217 code, including USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CHF, CAD, AUD, CNY, KRW, and INR, with additional currencies available. Each currency renders as its associated country or region flag.

Send a GET request to /forex/:currencyCode using the lowercase ISO 4217 code, for example /forex/usd or /forex/eur. Add ?variant=xs for a compact icon or ?format=svg to request vector output.

Currency symbols like $ or € are ambiguous across multiple currencies (USD, AUD, and CAD all use $). Country flags give traders and users an unambiguous, instantly recognizable identifier for each currency, which is why FX platforms conventionally use flags for currency pairs.

Yes. Request both currency codes separately (e.g. /forex/eur and /forex/usd) and place the two flags side by side in your UI. This is the standard pattern for currency pair display on trading platforms.

By default, an unrecognized currency code still returns HTTP 200 with a generated placeholder so your UI never shows a broken image. Add ?fallback=none to receive a 404 instead, if you want to detect missing coverage explicitly.

The Forex Logo API supports SVG and PNG output, with icon and xs size variants. SVGs scale cleanly for any display size, ideal for both trading dashboards and mobile apps.

Currency flags are served from our global CDN with sub-100ms delivery worldwide, the same infrastructure used across all logostream endpoints.
