The company has strategic research and development partnership with SCK CEN, a Belgian nuclear research center focusing on the development of Actinium-225, a radioactive isotope for the treatment of cancer. It also develops ConformalFLASH, a novel technique using the proton Bragg peak. Ion Beam Applications SA was incorporated in 1986 and is headquartered in Louvain-la-Neuve, Belgium.
